In the heart of Clermont, Florida lies the Summer Bay Orlando Resort, a fun-filled family destination retreat. Set on 400 lush acres featuring a private lake with a white-sand beach, this relaxed resort off Route 192 is 8 miles from Walt Disney World. My family and I were super excited to find this hidden gem. Summer Bay Orlando offers a wide array of activities for the entire family. Laid-back 1- or 2-bedroom condos sleep 4 to 8 guests, and provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screens, kitchens and washer/dryers. Some have balconies with garden and/or lake views. Amenities include five outdoor pools, four spa tubs, a cinema, game rooms and a gym, plus basketball, volleyball, two outdoor tennis courts, billiard rooms, video games, and shuffleboard courts. Our family enjoyed the complementary poolside karaoke and hula hoop contest. A theme park, a water park, mini-golf, and water sports on the lake are offered for an additional fee. Dining options consist of a poolside eatery, a tiki bar, an Italian restaurant, and a café.
We had a blast at the on-site Buccaneer Bay Adventure Park where we enjoyed ziplining, bumper boats, and the interactive kid's water playground. You can even rent kayaks, jet skis, and paddle boats or enjoy a round of put-put golf.
